What is organic vegetable glycerin?

Our organic vegetable glycerine is palm free and is obtained from mahua seed oil, soybean oil, flaxseed oil and mustard seed oil. Our organic glycerin is a viscous, clear liquid.

Vegetable glycerin is obtained through a process called hydrolysis, in which the oils go through an extraction process with water at high pressure and temperature.

This makes the chemical bonds break causing the glycerin to split from the fatty acids and be absorbed by the water. The result is then distilled to increase the purity of the vegetable glycerin.

Our organic vegetable glycerine is certified organic by the Soil Association. We are inspected annually to make sure we comply with their strict regulations.

Organic vegetable glycerin is popular in the cosmetics industry for soap making, moisturisers, shampoo, cream, conditioners and lotions.

It acts as an emollient and humectant which helps retain moisture to skin and hair. It is perfect for sensitive skin, dry skin or irritated skin as it has great soothing properties.
